Galaxy Note 510 launched in India
Apple iPad Mini real competitor, the Galaxy Note 8.0 as been launched as Note 510 in India. For some reason, only the 3G version of the tablet is made available, which explains its price tag of Rs 30,000 (~$600).
The price of 3G version of iPad Mini is about $40 cheaper in India but the Note also has the ability to make phone calls, so it can work as your backup phone. Specs include a 8.0 inch display, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, quad core Exynos 1.6GHz processor, 8 MP rear camera, 1.3 MP front camera, 16GB storage, 2GB RAM and 460 mAh battery. These specs are much better than Galaxy tab 3 7.0 that the company rolled out couple of days back. However, benchmarks still show that the Exynos processor is no match for the dual core Apple A5 chip that Cupertino giant is using in iPad Mini tablet.
