Apple iPad Mini real competitor, the Galaxy Note 8.0 as been launched as Note 510 in India. For some reason, only the 3G version of the tablet is made available, which explains its price tag of Rs 30,000 (~$600).

ZTE, a popular Chinese manufacture has released V81 tablet. It features 8 inch display, 1024 x 768 pixel resolution that has 4:3 format. This iPad alternative also has built in 3G modem with support for quad band UMTS.
